Solemn Novena 2018 – November 12-20

Monday, November 12 through Tuesday, November 20

Preacher:  Rev. Francis W. Sacks, CM
Theme:  EUCHARIST: The Heart of Our Catholic Faith and Practice

We invite you to join us for the Annual Solemn Novena and Feast Day Mass. Our theme focuses on the Eucharist, the source and summit of our Catholic Faith. Each day we’ll look at a particular element of the Mass so we can enter into it more deeply.

The Solemn Novena to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal has been celebrated every year at the Miraculous Medal Shrine in Germantown (Philadelphia) since 1927.  During this time it has always been celebrated during the nine days before Thanksgiving, since the Feast of the Miraculous Medal is on November 27. The Solemn Novena provides the faithful with an opportunity before the Feast to respond to Mary’s invitation to come to the Altar and place their needs in her open hands so she may take them to her Son.  Mary gave the design of the Miraculous Medal to St. Catherine Labouré and told her “to have a Medal struck upon this model.  Those who wear it will receive great graces, especially if they wear it around the neck.”
